Hmm, hey guys need some help here. Anyone ever seen an Original 1969 Fender Telecaster with NATURAL finish, i thought they didn't begin produce natural finishes until 1972, but also know some may have gotten through. i can't tell if this is an uber rare tele or a really good refin. !

Fraudsters are so good with Fender fakes, if you're thinking of paying significant money for it, I'd insist on an in-hand appaisal from some recognized expert. If they aren't asking big money, you can pretty much count on something fishy like a refinish at best.

thanks for the reply, thats what I've been reading. I'm just wondering how even the best experts at places like elderly norms guitars or chicago music exchange are able to distinguish or do they even have really good fakes? haha.

its for my 2013 r7, i think ill play it safe and pass. without verification it will be difficult to pass on even if i dig it. Thanks for the reply man.

The experts know the intricate details like how the routes should look and the edge radius and the paint techniques that were used, etc. Of course, some fakers are experts too, but a forgery good enough to fool an expert probably takes so much time and effort to make that they'd want more than an R7. I'm sure the experts get fooled too (happens in the art industry), but it's the best you can do.

I just don't trust the vintage Fender market, but maybe I'm too paranoid.

No i agree. i think without timeline proof nowadays we're out of luck on 100% assurance on vintage gear pre 70s :-(
