I found a 1973 Marshall Bass Lead (1960 Slant) 4x12 cabinet with original greybacks, with basketweave grill. Can anybody give me any information on what this cabinet is worth, and what the heck are greybacks? They said they were 20w speakers and original for the cabinet. I thought all the black, green, cream, etc... were 25w speakers.

Anway if you can shed some light on this for me I would appreciate it very much!!

What's really important are the cones. What are the codes stamped in the cones? For grey backs, probably R1C? These were in between the Pulsonic cones (the ones everyone wants from the "pre-Rola" days) and the blackbacks with the Kurt Mueller cones.

ttosh: I could give you a fair price estimate, but I need the following:

1) Pics of the cab, front rear, inside (angle shots of the front & rear that include the sides are fine).
2) Speaker codes and cone #"s. Look on the frames, they have something like this:

T1221
14FG

3) The speaker cone #'s:

Or you can refer to this thread and read for a few hours through all 50 plus pages.
