I was thinking about picking up an 80's Gibby Flying V w/ Gibson branded Kahler trem. Is it possible to pull the trem off and install a TOM bridge without much work?
Are there routes in place for direct TOM bridge installation?

Interesting question...I just picked up an '84 V with the Gibson branded Kahler. I ended up talking to Gary Kahler himself, runs his own support! Anyhow I've been thru the ringer but the kahler now works great. I'd be happy to share what I've learned if you decide to keep that trem on the guitar.

They are usually setup already to take a saddle/ tail piece setup...usually

You would have to clean up the route and put a filler piece of wood in. My buddy did a really nice job on his old Ibanez destroyer. He used a Bridgeport mill though.

Share that setup info Zuel!
