i have a 1982 model mesa boogie half back cab. i'm interested in selling it but don't know what it's worth. i have a decent amount of money in it. it's a little too bright sounding for me and i need to sell it so i can get a new mesa rectifier cab. i would keep it but the woman is giving me down the road about it. thanks

2 mesa black shadows and 2 with silver backs and no label

those are probably EVM 12L OEM speakers... I would say that cab is worth every bit of $400-600

Pics? Where are you located. I have a few recto cabs, might be into a trade.

Im in wv. I would be willing to trade im in bad need of a new cab
I haven't really needed one until now.i just started playing in a metal band again.
I really appreciate the feedback.

That cab would be a wet dream for me, but I think Dave's advice is the best. The OEM Electrovoices are gold for some people (Including me :D)

I'm putting together a 4x12 closed-back version of that same cab, same speakers.

Sounds bright? Maybe try some foam stuck inside it?
To me those speakers sound rather dark, especially when compared to V30s.

I just cant get the tight low end I want out of it. I usually have my highs set around 7 on my triple rec but with this cab I have have to set them at about 2. I had a marshall 1960b but needed money and got rid of it and got this can in trade. Not a bad cab just not for me.

They are great cabs, but only go for about $400-500 loaded. I think the brightness may be due to having a metal grill and no grill cloth. Grill cloth can dampen the high end. On my halfback cab I have both sections closed and like it that way. Have you tried closing off the top section?

My biggest complaint on the cab is the weight, it weighs a ton, no thanks to the 2 EVM-12L speakers in the bottom.

i really like mine too,but i also closed it..not sure mine came with thouigh ..both speakers had no labels just 2 green cones and two brown cones, ..i ve kept the speakers but loaded it with 2 v30s and 2 g1275s

i want it and i'm in wv to. those are my favorite cabs and speakers ever.

Sounds like a match made in heaven. Jacks a cool dude to deal with man, had solid deal with him! hope you guys can hook up a deal!
