Spoiler...just over $15k shipped...plus tax cuz it's Reverb.

Cool amp, more for collectors at that price but still a very cool amp.

What are the odds of two different 1996 Blueface VH4S's going up for sale around the same time? What a coincidence.

I actually saw this one too, but I had already picked up #16—which just arrived today. I’d be a little hesitant with this one, especially since there's clearly an issue with Channel 4. On mine, I’ve noticed some channel bleed—like when you adjust the knobs on a channel you're not on, it still affects the sound. So a problem with one of the channels could be a bigger deal than it seems.

The economy has been screwed up since 2020 and it's finally getting to the point that people are selling their high-dollar toys in efforts to ditch new debt/inflation. It's a good sign that a correction is finally coming, but bad for anyone who is affected in the process. People are finally stopping their borrowing- because they can't borrow anymore- and are unloading their debt through various means.

In short, it's not surprising. We're going to see more and more rare items on the market until we finally exit this drawn-out recession.

I’m happy with my 2017 biased right with 6l6s
. Atm all I had was kt77s and it sounds good but only sounds like Tool lol
How many you guys still rock VH4 Some ?

That's a good shout.... 15 is/was mine (off to new home shortly) and fired it up to check for any issues such as you mention, which I hadn't thought to check before. Thanks for mentioning.

Although mine was never my favourite amp ever I'll miss it, definitely something a little different. Will likely fill the hole with something else next month (though rest of kit finally shipping from storage to new home overseas soon, which I'm excited about) - whiling away my time with lots of Bogner and ENGL videos currently. Long list of Herbert vids to check out too.

I run EL34, because it sounds like a combination of all the things I like about a Marshall but with more compression and gain on Channel 4, but also a tiny touch of the old Mesa "wall of sound" character that mixes really well for recording.

There are so many "boutique" amps now- some really great sounding stuff out there that I wouldn't mind having for different sounds- but how often would I really use them?
The VH4 is a tool of simplicity and practicality for me. I don't have to spend time setting several amps up and mic'ing them.
I am not ready for it spiritually, but I can see how the VHX is the next step in the lineage. I can see a blend of Hagen and VH4 being the tits.
