Talk about feeling out of place! Had my first rehearsal with my old original band, $kyhigh, last night. We were asked to reunite for a benefit coming up on June 10th so we figured what the hell!
I had not played these songs since the last time we were together and to say I struggled is an understatement. I wrote the music for all of the songs but was having a hard time playing some things correctly. As the night went on, it got a little better but we have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time.
On a side note, I was able to play through a JCM800 for the first time in probably 8 years or so. Not sure of the model but it was a channel switcher with reverb, fx loop and one input. It sounded good but I prefer my DSL100. The 800 was much brighter and that was with presence all the way off and treble down pretty low. After awhile, my ears started to get tired of its sound, but it sounded pretty damn good when it was first fired up. We rented a rehearsal room and that was the amp there so I'll probably just stick to using it the next few weeks. Another rehearsal on monday...gotta get this shit down!
