2 channel mesa boogie triple rectifier and g major question

just bought a G major and want to figure out how to pair it up properly with my mesa boogie triple rectifier (2 channel version).

Here is what I want to do with it:
1) use effects with it
2) set up patches to switch channels and effects at once

I hear there is problems with the parallel fx loop.

What are some ways I can make them work in unison properly?

Will a series loop mod for the mesa boogie fix all my problems?

What foot controller do you recommend?

I used a G-Major with a 2 Channel Recto with a parallel loop back in the day and had no problems with it.
