Anyone try or compare the combo of 2 Celestion G12M25 Greenbacks (Chinese Reissues) + 2 Celestion G12H75 Creambacks in a 4X12?

I know and am aware of the wattage differential and what that means to one pair possibly overpowering the other... and limiting the cab total power handling to 100W... but how's it going to sound? I've used 2 V30s + 2 G12M25s with good results in a 4X12... so in theory these 2 pairs should play nice together.

Any feedback? Or what about 4 G12H75s?

Amps to be used... vintage Marshall late '60s 100W SLPs and early '70s metal panel 100W JMPs... and possibly some modified JCM800 2203s... maybe some higher gain, more modern amps too (Diezel, Recto).

I liked the idea of the tighter bottom of the H75s to add some variety to the M25s.

Thoughts?

I had that combo in my Friedman cab for a few months. It was great. Great low end and mids. Very balanced and tight. Can't say anything bad about it as those are my two favorite speakers.

My OCD eventually led me to getting all H75's though.

I say go for it. I just picked up an H75 and put it in with my M65 cream back and it sounds really good. So I'd guess the H's on bottom and greenies on top would sound really great. Try it for a bit, then if you get the itch, pick up two more 75's and give that a shot.

I would use Creamback M65s over the Greenbacks.

Or go even better with Scumback M75/H75 combo. I have that loaded in my Friedman cab and it sounds awesome with my BE

I currently have a 70th Anniversary/75w Creamback mix in my 4x12 and it sounds great.
All 8ohm speakers wired in two pairs at 16ohm each pair.

Well, my understanding is that the H75 Creamback is a higher powered version of the G12H30 greenback (not the 70th anniversary H30) and that's what they sound like to me. My Wizard 4x12 has 2 heritage G12M's and 2 heritage G12H's and sounds incredible. I also have a Bogner 2x12 with 1 M65 Creamback and 1 H75 Creamback and that cab sounds great too.

IMO your idea for the greenback / H75 creamback combo is worth trying for sure.
A 4x12 with all H75 Creambacks would be great as well.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Well since no one thinks it'll sound like ass or a wet fart... I think I'll give it a try. Worse comes to worse, I can go all 4 H75s. Definitely 16 Ohms.

I'm running Alnico Creams over Creamback H75s in 2 cabs. Sounds awesome
