what's up guys, just joined and decided to ask the advice of the experts around here about an idea I've been wanting to make into a reality. I have a peavey 6505 head. and a Mesa Studio Preamp that I've just picked up and have fallen in love with the lead tones i'm getting. I also have a G major 2 which doesn't play very nice w the 6505's FX loop due to the Hiz to Loz impedance mismatch going on, i've tryed everything and there's still tone suckage and slight noise and hum. it's annoying. But when put the G major through the Mesa Studio Pre's FX loop and use the return on the 6505 as a Power Amp... it sounds great. now i love the 6505's Rhythm Tone over the Mesa, but love the Mesa Lead tone over the 6505, Specially w the G majors FX. Not to mention i can get sweet clean tones out of it as well since i have a Split Coil Tap on my Axe. I also have a Behringer fcb1010 pedalboard that controls the G major. i basically want to know if there was something i could use besides an A/B/Y(i own a Morley), that would allow me to connect both the 6505's preamp and the Mesa studio pre into the 6505's return(power amp) but also get the fx from the g major and be able to switch btw the two through the FCB1010. basically switching patches btw rhythm on the 6505, lead + Fx on the mesa, or cleans + Fx on the mesa. i tried doing this with my morley a/b to switch btw the two but that involved too much tap dancing, i also have a maxon od808 that i would like to be able to bypass whenever it is i go to a clean patch... i was looking into the GCX, but i've heard something about the buffer where if it's on it'll mess around w my g major, and if it's off then it'll mess w my 6505... i don't know what to go for.. is this even possible?. i just need to know before i take the plunge on something that won't even be of any use to me. thanx in advance guys. And Sorry for the long post.

Rack gizmo is the correct solution, I have the RG-16, the previous version.

Also, it can control the channel switching for your peavey and mesa through midi, not the mention the TC. In other words, you hit one button on your midi floorboard and BAM everything changes at once. NO tap dancing at all.

Thanx for your responses guys, and the rack gizmo seems very appealing yet the price.... a little out of my budget, do you guys think this would be able to do the same as the gizmo(or for what i need it to do) http://www.glab.com.pl/midi_4xloop_en it's 2/3 cheaper than the rack gizmo,, if not i'll have to start saving up a little more.

I'm not sure you that's the right tool for the job. If price it the issue you can probably find a GCX used for $300 or so.

or just get a decent ABY switcher (like a radial). and have each preamp on one side of the power amp.

If the rack gizmo is too pricey, just go for the mini effects gizmo or a rocktron patchmate or voodoo gcx

Thanx for all ur help guys, im gonna go for the rack gizmo, but do i really need the big one?. or will the smaller one be enough?. the aby i Had considered before but doubted it would work since the 5150's power amp only outputs in mono.

if i were to go with the K-Switch, how would i go about wiring it up?.
