Hey Everyone,

I am looking to upgrade to a 2x12 soon, but I have been told that a 4x10 might be a good choice as well. I am still leaning toward the 2x12, but what kind of low end would I be getting from a 4x10 compared to a 2x12? It would seem to me that 10's would not give as much low end...

I like the 2x12 better for heavier tones, and the 4x10 better for clean and vintage tones. My Landgraff D'Lux sounds sublime with a Marshall 4x10 1965B with G10L-35 speakers. Cleans to overdriven tones. Not as much with the Landgraff 50 Watt or Lee Jackson amps. If you are using that Jet City, a good 2x12 will probably sound better if you are doing higher gain. That said, a Marshall 4x10 is nice to have for the arsenal.

Cool.. Thanks.. 2x12 it is then..

i've had less than good experience with a marshall 4x10 for distorted tones. sounded good miced though, but on stage it was thinner than a good 2x12.
