My favorite Bogner by a long shot. Check the Bogner sub-forum Dave. We've posted lots on it down there. With 6550's in it, the amp is a monster with gain to match. Smooth, liquid, rich and harmonic. I like it because it does lack channels, shared EQ and all that stuff. It is very easy to set up. With the 6550's, you can run the gain and channel master around noon and the main master around 11:00 and get them tubes working for you. The only thing I don't like is the FX loop, but I can overlook that. If you see a used one come up, grab it. They hold their value pretty well - all things, considering.

Agreed. I'm really digging mine. The lack of channels mean nothing. It can easily go from clean to mean and everthing in between.

I have one. The lack of channels doesn't bother me a bit. It has a killer clean and the gain channel is very responsive to changes and has some useful switches, one of which I may reroute to the footswitch, only because I can. Downsides...loop not footswitchable and could be better.

It's an amp that just sounds good so you're not messing with it, just playing it. It's got a good amount of gain but a good OD pedal put's it over the top. And checkout my footswitch.

Glad you are digging yours Zack after all that wait!

I bet if you got hold of Jerry P up there in NY since you live close, he could figure a way to make the loop footswitchable. The way the amp is set up, the series loop driver shares channel 1 duties on V4 and the FX return is V5. Seems to me the return could be made footswitchable and another jack added to the back of the amp. On yours, without the reverb, there is a punch out for V11 which is the reverb driver (if it had one) and FX send/return could be hot-wired and re-routed and made switchable.

i am also interested in this amp. I dont know if i would like the kt88's or 6550's as much as el34's. Are the el34's a good match with this amp?

6550's.....trust me. Plus, they are drop in, if you get a duet with the current rating in the right range without changing the bias resistor. It isn't easy to get to inside the Shiva. For 34's, you would definitely have to. If you find a used one (good luck), it may already have 6550's. From the factory, they are tubed with 88's.

IM getting one of those ebtech line level boxes as I used alot of delays:)

Im thinkin bout doin the Bogner effects loop cors anyone else try these??

You don't need that on the 20th. It has two send jacks for the loop - for high/low impedance level FX......one marked "pedals" and one marked "rack" FX.

Yeah the 20th Shiva is sick...really dig the mode button for more of that aggressive midrange and its singing lead tone.

Thanks for the information...good to know.

Love, love, love my 20th Shiva. Something about the way it responds and sounds, it just feels like it was made for me.
