Just grabbed it from Bogner to check out. Definitely a KILLER amp! Much different than the other XTC's I've heard. Much more forward and open and BIG. Plexi channel now has a boost so you can get a huge 70's plexi tone, with some added gain and low end but no added compression. Probably my favorite channel on the amp. The blue channel is very organic with that classic Bogner chewiness. Definitely voiced around a Marshall, but goes much further than that. I wouldn't really consider this amp for metal, even though it can do it, it's much more modded Marshall territory. Lots of bite and attack, which I really dig. The red channel is searing, fat and more compressed with tons of sustain. The cleans are classic Bogner clean...one of the best of any channel switching amps. The XTCs are hard to describe because of all the switches and tonal capabilities...it all depends how you set it.

It's fitting right in with the Friedman Brown Eye modded Plexi reissue and Soldano Avenger with KT66's. Cabs are a Bogner straigt loaded with the holy grail of speakers... Scumback M75 65 watters, and an original Marshall slant with Greenbacks. All set up at the shop and ready to be cranked! That's the beauty of a shop in an industrial area...you can literally blast these amps and hear what they're capable of and not go to jail!

great score jerry. get an a/b box and crank the Brown eye and the XTC at the same time

Hey where are the baby pics? You can't buy amps, you have to save for college!

Still 2 more weeks until the baby....until then it's all about the amps!  I've been thinking about running 2 of the heads at once, curious to see how a mix would sound.

I used to run an XTC 101b and an SLO in stereo...that worked pretty good :) ...but, the XTC was more sluggish...But, I'm sure both of those amps would blend well with your new XTC...Now that I have the 20th Anniversary XTC, the response is faster and it would probably play better with others...

Yeah, that's one thing I noticed about the other XTCs I tried, they were a little laid back in the attack...like they were a millisecond behind. This new one seems much faster with more attack, that's one thing I like so much better.

By the way, I'm just checking out the amp...I haven't bought it YET!!! It's actually one of the prototypes that Bogner had in their shop and were kind enough to lend me to see what I thought.

I was gonna run the Wizard and Slo at the same time, but since my stereo attenuator isn't done I am just gonna use my Suhr amp switcher for a W/D rig. I worried about phasing issues as well.
