Yeah, to me clarity is where it's at. I love that these new Bogners are more open and are fairly easy to dial in, but also have new switches/modes that allow you to get pretty close to the older models if you desire. It's cool to see a company incorporate more usefulness out of their designs.
The Twin Jet is a lot of fun, too...all that low end and destruction, but can cut thru like a champ. Just make sure you dial that one in with your eyes closed...
Right now I've just got a couple of Bogner cabs. I'm building my own amps these days, and I'll probably build a 101b or Classic eventually.
The Classic Blue sounds to me like it has more of a Marshall 1959 flavor to it, where the 101b sits further under the notes with more low mids. The Classic does seem a little more stiff - though not as stiff as the 20th - but it could also be seen as articulate. Definitely a great sound!
If you have the chance though, definitely try these amps before you jump on one. Try it the way you plan on using it; that might save you some time.
I've owned a 2 101bs but never a classic or 20th. The 20th x price tag is still too high on a used. Waiting for it to drop some more. I have seen classics go for 2k these days. That's a little easier on the wallet.
