20th Anniversary XTC w/ EL34's

I know Brad had one of these, and probably some other guys on here. On paper this amp seems to be exactly what I want in a tube head. I have loved the XTC 101B for a long time and at one point it was my favorite amp.

I've since grown to dislike some tonal qualities of the Red channel, similar to other common gripes with this amp.
I checked out some clips and the TM video of the 20th with 6L6's and it sounds too flabby and congested for my taste.

So how is it with 34's? Seems like it should sound great! Clearer and more open? Tighter, more focused/controlled Red Channel? Is the Red Ch more aggressive than the 101B with the "marvel mod"?
Anyone with experience please do tell. Trying to narrow my choices down.

Hi Greg. Yeah, I actually talked to Dave recently and his B60/120 is one of the amps on my list of possible choices.
