I have been looking for a new head for a long time and seem to be suffering from aas :) I play in a metal/pop punk/hardcore type band. Loud drummer loud singer loud bass and 2 guitar players. Right now I have a valveking 100 with a jetcity 2x12 cab and the other guitar player has a jetcity 100 with a jetcity 2x12. We have more than enough volume to play any venue in my area but want a lower wattage head now.

Options- tube meister 18, blackstar 20, carvin 3vm...ect

Will any of these still give a good punch and stand up next to the other guitar players set up. I'm looking for volume and punch in a lower wattage head through a 2x12 cabinet.

Sorry if I'm confusing or dragging on. I just really want a new guitar head (preferably lunchbox size). Btw I've only turned my valveking up to 5 at local shows through a marshall mg 4x12 with a full heavey band.

Jca 22 is a very sweet head but I want a more modern sounding crunch.

20 watts can be crazy loud. Just you will lose headroom the louder u go. 20 eats should be fine and har mic it when needed

The JCA 20 I have has more balls than any Valveking I've ever heard.

The Blackstar HT line is an exceptionally good line of amps. They sound as good or better than a lot of more expensive amps.

How about an Orange? A Dark Terror or TH30 is pretty awesome for doomy metal stuff. 15 watts through a 4x12 is bloody loud.

I like these amps way more than the JCA20 which isn't a bad amp.
