any input appreciated

my pal's rg is a bad ass guitar
but the high e string always gets stuck under the top of the fretboard

it has a locking licensed blade floyd

the neck is 3 ply laminated-

1.fretboard
2.laminate
3.white layer
then…….
actual wood of the neck[maple]

how or what can i do to adjust the string spacing on this axe?

this guitar is a dream to play-the action is perfect and super fast and its one of the best rg's i ahve ever played or heard-BONE STOCK
aside from this little problem i love this guitar

thanks guys

Is the string getting caught under the fretboard, or is it actually getting caught on one of the frets? I had this happen on a guitar with a bound fretboard. I had to, very carefully, round over and file the fret end until it was nice and smooth. A few gentle taps with a fret hammer (if needed), and a little extra filing, and it's good to go.

he is a beginner and has a heavy hand so when he starts walloping the strings while strumming it gets caught under the fretboard and not the frets at the 23-24 fret

Get him a lighter pick and tell him to practice. Its different than guitar hero.

I think know what the problem is...

The string would have to be getting caught under the frets. They may not have been properly dressed. I would bring it to a good repair shop to have the fret ends dressed.
