Maybe it would have been a better idea to come here with some actual facts about the guitar you are discrediting instead of just insinuating them.

Only if Snopes could fact check guitars. I know you guys love Snopes for the real facts...

Way to go trying to bring politics to a blackmachine thread. I bet you're fun at parties.

As to the teardown on the other FF8, a ton of people saw it. I don't need to literally bring it here...just ask around. People who are into blackmachines have seen it. People who would have been serious potential buyers have probably seen it. It's unfortunate I don't have it, but I don't immediately save everything I see on the internet in case of deletion.

If they paired that listing with the luthier breakdown on that other blackmachine FF8, I doubt anyone would pay even $5k for it. That guitar was a mess.

Link?

Wish I had it saved -- it was posted to FB when the owner brought it in to a tech for some setup work. But the owner justifiably was not happy. I think it's floating around somewhere on the internet though -- I did see some discussion of it with the pics after the initial posting/deletion. It was this one, actually my favorite of the FF8s:

Literally took my favorite FF8 and turned it into a guitar I wouldn't even want.

What was wrong with it?

I brought two of my Mayones Duvells to a local tech for a setup. He does a lot of the work here in SF for touring musicians when they play in town. Said they were literally the best built guitars he's ever seen. $2800 each. Better than any guitar I've ever owned in terms of fit/finish/playability/stability. The necks never move. It blows my mind a $10K+ guitar has issues.

I got a Mayones recently, AMAZING guitars, playability is effortless, and it sounds fat yet articulate, love it!

Wish I could remember, each picture had its own issue. I asked around to see if any friends have it saved -- I'm sure the post will turn up eventually.

Yea, Duvells aren't bad... I'm a bit shocked the guy said they were the best built guitars he'd ever seen. Like Mayones builds a nice guitar and I don't recall ever seeing a flaw in one, but I wouldn't say mine was even close to the best in my stable. Ken Lawrence, Hartung, Huber, Sugi > Mayones, overall.

As to not having flaws on a $10k+ guitar, well, one must remember that like the Duvells, blackmachines were $3k guitars prior to Periphery.

and that dude that was on here trying to pump the price up. actually, two guys on here.

Weak.

Mischa can’t afford this guitar he’s so broke! Lol. Djent has gone disco, as it should.

The breakdown was done by AVH Guitar Repair. This is what he had to say about it:

"I've seen thousands of guitars pass through my hands and by my bench in over 30yrs, and I have never seen as over-hyped an instrument as a Blackmachine. I've seen 2 and worked on one. Indeed, they are made from outstanding cuts of wood, but there was a strange mix of genuine, top craftsmanship and primitive, almost lackadaisical short-cuts and parts that frankly, IMO, do not befit a guitar of this almost mythical hype and pricing demands.

Upon first inspection I too was very impressed by it's appearance - they really are gorgeous guitars. But the one I completely took apart and scrutinized closely revealed some surprising things that I do not expect to see on a guitar costing 5-10k. The overall quality, finishing and attention to detail was far more apparent in the examples of Mayones guitars that I've played, and I can only imagine that the stellar-looking Daemoness guitars (judging from hi-res pics) appear to be maybe a better 'value' for the cash.

So yeah, they are very nice guitars...but not 5k + nice. And I would never part with multiple instruments for one, that's for certain.

But each to their own devices, just my opinion."

Funny he mentioned Mayones. I've had some tiny flaws/issues on my Daemonesses vs. Mayones, but the Daemonesses have always sounded better and been more comfortable.

So Misha cry’s about not being able to make a living playing in Periphery but just bought a Ferrari last month.

I guess hyping gear to little rich kids on SS.org pays off.

Yeah, there's a difference betweem the off-the-shelf Duvells and the more recent Master Builder Collection ones from the custom shop. Those are the ones I have. Better built than any guitar I've come across. Sound-wise, it's all subjective. But the build quality on my MBCs is flawless. They've really upped their game.

I did have a regular Duvell Elite made a few years ago and it wasn't the same, build wise. They've made a bunch of improvements in production it seems.

Never mind the signature dude just needs to bounce.

The thing I like about this forum over other ones is the civility, lack of trolls & the fact that religion & politics are kept out.

This guy needs a time out & a refresher on board rules.
