2x12 cab for Ampeg VH140C

what should be the impedance of the speakers I need to build a 2x12 cab for use with an Ampeg VH140C?

Speaker output reads "70 watts RMS at 8 ohms, 4 ohms min. total load impedance"

8 ohms. Look for a wiring diagram on line to see how you should wire the pair up.
 
The combo version has 8 ohm speakers basically G12K100 clones, 70 watts from each poweramp going to a single speaker. K100s and V30s both sound great with that amp, but I don't know if plugging 70 watts of solid state power into a single V30 would be a problem.
