The MC90 loaded cabs are more articulate and clearer sounding. They have more highs, more lows and more midrange. They are much faster reacting.
The Recto 2x12 is a darker, smoother sounding cab. It has far less top end sizzle, de-emphasises the pick attack, and although the V30s produces less bottom end than the MC-90s the Recto cab produces more bottom end than the Thiele does. It's also a little slower in response, which gives a slightly bigger feel to the notes/chords.
I generally prefer the Recto 2x12 for when I need a thicker, beefier rock sound or a darker metal sound. I prefer the MC-90s for when I want a more cutting tone. I also like mixing the MC-90 loaded open back 1x12 with the Recto cab as they compliment each other really well.
Great info, thanks! I think I will try the Recto 2 x 12 after all. You articulated the Thiele really well (top-end sizzle, pick attack etc). I am digging it, just looking for something a little beefier.
Recto cabs bring the beef!
