I've been researching which 4x12 cab to buy for my Peavey JSX. Currently using my son's B52 4x12 cab that he bought with his AT100, and the cab sounds great. No clue what drivers are installed in the B52 cab.
Shall I just search for a JSX cab that compliments the head? Carvin 4x12.......??

Carvin has made some decent cabs. I would get something good though. When it comes to cabs, buy a cab for the structure. You can always switch out the speakers for something better suited for the head. Go for a Mesa or something like that. There is always the Avatar option. Maybe play your head through different cabs and speakers and see what you like.

When I had a JSX I ran it through a MESA Traditional loaded with V30's and thought it sounded really good.

I've actually got a Peavey JSX cab that I'm not using, if you're interested, depending on where you are.

I'm in Ohio - W of Cleveland.

What cab are you currently using? How does it compare with the JSX cab?

I have played the jsx in stores through a 1960a/b cab before and thought it sounded good.

I had a JSX 4x12 cab for awhile...if you can get your hands on one of those, grab it, they are great sounding cabs with lots of lows, plus a simulated mic out...found mine for $299 used at a Guitar Center.

A bandmate ran his through an orange cab...gave it more bottom end

Might be worth trying a search at Guitar Center for the JSX cab at that price!

Worth a shot...I totally lucked out, those cabs were going for $749 new, and this used one was in perfect condition, no scuffs, one caster made a slight clicking noise when rolling...I had always thought someone just messed up on pricing it...

+1. This is my match up for my JSX too.

I had the 4x12 JSX cab with my JSX and it sounded great to me...plus the line out thing on the back is pretty nifty

You can find them for cheap too...if I wouldn't have just sold mine I would've offered it to you.

Thanks,

i was offered a trade for my guitar - a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL half stack. don't need a head, but the cab might be nice. I am not sure if the JCM 2000 would be a hard sell......

I use a marshall MF280 with a Peavey Ultra and it sounds great. Cheap too. Under $300.
