4x12 cabinet 'standing waves' issue solved!

Pretty interesting stories regarding this form of treatment.

I've heard of baffles being put into cabs to help deflect the sound.

I'm running a detuned cabinet right now and it sounds absolutely huge.
 
The 1960 Marshall UK made cabinets were made from Birch Ply. FWIW, Since early 2000 Marshall went to MDF for the back panel as they told me they believed it did not "mess with the tone" and keeps the cost down for their customers.
The Cameron 4x12's have a fairly thick cover of baffling on the back panel. Suhr told a friend of mine he uses them on his cube and 2x12's, but did not like they way they sounded in the 4x12's because of how they are voiced. Cameron suggested that you may prefer to take some of the baffling off of the back panel.
I would think the that much baffling in that cab, especially around the speakers as shown, would be too much, but if it sounds good to you...
