Congrats, I can't wait to hear some clips.
I'm gassing hard for one of these amps and I kinda wished I bought a jcm 800 and just had mike do the Cali mod instead of the quickrod I have on the way.
I saw a 2203x for a cheap price and should have bought it, I'm sure it had the potential to kick ass.

Anybody know how the newer 2203 sounded modded.

Mike doesn't like the 2203X's because of the cheap transformers in them. I saw a cheap one when I was looking, but passed it up and just found a 4 hole JCM 800 instead. No one seems to like those and it's a perfect amp for the Cali.

I agree about the older trannies, I am not one to always yell older is better but in the modding case I believe that the older iron just sounds better. I like the sounds of the KK but I trust Mike's word since he has worked on them and played them.

I have one of these heads here. Sadly it burned up in a fire. When it showed up, it looked like it was spawned outta hell. knobs and jacks all melted , the case and headshell charred black beyond reading the screening. I put a new set of tubes in her, and believe it or not, she fired right up. Pots are a little scratchy, but other than that...SHES ALIVE!!!!

Mike Fortin has a great ear and has some killer mods. The best thing is that Mike knows electronics like the back of his hand, so he can incorporate just about any mod you can dream up. Not to throw him under the bus, but Mike knows switching too, so if you like to have switching options...
