I just went through this.
I had a rs superpot in one of my guitars, it got a little scratchy and I used the wrong stuff spraying it out.
Next time I will have some deoxit fader lube on hand. But anyway, pot was fucked and just when I had gotten it to the right looseness. These rs pots aren't the easiest to turn at first but sound great.
I then threw in the Bourns 95 I had around and damn if it didn't change the tone. Polymer or something that they use and for me it just didn't sound right. Maybe the carbon Bourns 82's are better.
Got an EVH in then and reading 450k that wasn't gonna work. I wanted something lower in friction, low tolerance and 500 or above and the Emerson I finally ordered nailed it.
Now I gotta get some Emerson's for my SG.
