Hey guys. I'm considering putting a Suhr Aldrich pick up in the bridge position of my Les Paul Standard. I see there is a 50mm and 53mm. I'm not sure which one I need to get. Thanks for any help on this.

Measure the distance between your outer strings at the point where your bridge pickup's bridge-side pole pieces are located. That's the spacing size you'll want. In the pic below, you can see I have a 50mm spaced pickup where it should be a 53mm.

Gibson bridge pickup pole spacing is about 52mm. I've used both in a Les Paul without any issues. If I were buying new I'd get a 53mm

I used 50mm on my LP Classic. Turned out fine.

Always used 50mm with my les Paul’s and it’s been great. The Aldrich is a nice pickup and splits really well as well.

You'll be fine either way. I'd go for the 50 mm one, personally.

I’ll be honest. I feel it’s incredible you have the list of amps you’ve got in your signature and don’t know the answer to that.

It’s confusing IMO.

There’s floyd spacing, LP spacing, and trem spacing.

The Duncan custom I have needs a cover less than 50mm. Gibson pickups are 50mm. Floyd is 53mm.

The ABR1 bridge is a little narrower than the nashville bridge. The non abr nashvilles are at 51.5mm. You can literally use either but most people will use the 50mm

There are (4) standard spacings: 49.2mm, 50mm, 52mm and 53mm. Old PAFs and Duncan standard spacing is 49.2mm

You can use either and wouldn’t know the difference other than the poles not lining up perfectly with the strings

I think I had a 53 on my Charvel with a Floyd before I sold it. The pickup sounded great. I put another Suhr pickup in the neck position and it sounded great also.
