which one would you rather have?

I am debating getting rid of the cobra...

If I do I would have around $500 spare cash to spend on a gcx/gcp switching system and get some new pedals for my rack set up...

Cobra by a landslide for me!

But I lean more towards metal.....

Yeah the 5150 sucks for metal  :poke:

5150 for me. The sound great. They do metal awesome. Easier to find. They go for around $500-$700 usually. And they are very easy to get rid of.

Up to you. But if it's 5150 +GCP/GCX or Framus Cobra without. Then go 5150.

What Rob Arnold of Chimaira (yeah, they suck) does is runs a 6505+ through a switching system and uses a Digitech Gsp1101 for his cleans. It's worth considering if you're really worried about cleans. If not then still go 5150. :)

yea I have seen pics of rob arnold's rig...pretty nice.

I would use a POD for cleans I think...or just add some chorus/reverb and it would sound fine. I only have a 4 space rack at the moment.

So it would be:
Power Conditioner
GCX
2 space shelf for pedals

Pedals: Delay, Reverb, Noise-gate, Boost/OD, and maybe a phase or tremelo....pretty simple.

Well, in that case: 5150. I prefer it to the Cobra for metal anyway, but that's just me. Which do you prefer? if Cobra then you'd be sacrificing some tone for flexibility.

5150 for all the reasons listed above as well.
