I thought they were made in Mexico ? Not overseas from here ....
Oh, my bad. I was thinking China. Has anyone heard of reliability issues with them? More than just tube changes that is?

I never have .... but I do not hear about these amps much at all ...

Mailman have you ever played / owned any Fryette ?
Never came across them.
What do they sound like?
Mesa ish??

Not really ...

They have a few I think you may like. Pittbull's UL or CLX (both with graphic EQ), Deliverance and Sig X. Each has it's own sound but all have the Fryette finger print.
High gain with a lot of definition, much more than most amps. Cut in a mix as well or better than most. They are pretty dynamic and give you a lot of control from your picking hand. All of them clean up great with the guitar volume.

From the other amps you have liked .... I think you may like this stuff. The way you say you use one sound and go from there I would think you may really like a Deliverance 120. It is more raw than the Pitbull's and Sig X. I saw one here for $850 and wish I had the cash.

Motorpud had a VHT he brang up to my place a few months back. Forgot what it was.
Sounded pretty good.
Just had a jam session with my drummer(No bass player tonight)
and played the Rivera KR7 and the 5150 and each held their own NICELY!
We ended the jam session with the 5150 on the Crunch channel Boosted and it was AWESOME!

Again.......what a great tone.

He had a Deliverance.

Sounds like fun. 5150 sounds like it fits you perfect.

Not a fan of the 5153. Just couldn't gel with it. I'd much rather own a 5150 or and Engl.

Glad you dig the 5150. I think I would like to have all 3 some day. :D

I'm one away. I've got the 5150, the 5150 combo, and the 5150 III. If I can find the 5150 II for a good deal I'm going to jump on it.

I had the 6505 +..........

It didnt sound as good as this Block Letter does.
I also had the Signature 5150 that sounded great.
Its just been a few years and too many amps.

I remember it sounding bad ass as well!

Just picked up a Block letter 5150.
Smoking hot amp!
Sounds really good. This is my 3rd 5150 I have owned.
One Signature and a 5150 II.
How does the 5150 III compare to this one?
More 'modern' sounding?
Really dont hear much about the 5150 III on hear.
This Block letter 5150 is really bad ass though......

Just want to hear some opinions.

Dan
God I hope you get a 5150III. I would love to hear your opinion since you have owned every amp I have ever wanted :D I think it would push it's way into your top three favorites.
I don't think you should be worried about reliability since you probably won't have it long enough to get dusty   I have only heard about tube problems and footswitch cable issues also. I have had issues with both. Everyone talks about the earlier models (first 1000 or so) having more problems. I don't think this is the case since I know just as many owners with the same issues that have newer models. My theory is that for some reason preamp tubes are pushed a little harder in the EVH and go bad quicker (though I have no scientific basis for this theory  ). Earlier models have just been around longer and the tubes have just been used more, hence older models blowing tubes more now. I think in the future we'll hear more often that the later models will blow preamp tubes. I recently purchased a power regulator for my rack to see if I can go a little longer on this set of tubes. I did this because my tubes seemed to go just after an outdoor gig with very poor power.

the 5150 III seem to hold re-sale fairly well.
havent seen one used for under $1200
I would love to check one out one day.

i wish i could get 1200 for mine :D . nah they do hold there values fairly well. and speaking of getting dusty, mine has been sitting for the last few weeks. i have been so in love with my 6505+ and the jj 6l6/kt66 tube kit with high gain preamps, i havent even powered the III up lately

Getting an EVH in the mix would be very interesting. Can't wait to hear what you guys think.
