Any more 5153 mini love? Some other forums are going crazy over these things, and they seem to be selling out as fast as anyone can get them.

Here on Rig Talk, there are guys that really know that genre of tone. Just wondering if any of you have really thought "wow, this amp is as good as anything out there now, no matter the price!"

Well there was and still is a lot of love for the 100 watter and I believe it is considered to be "as good as anything out there". Based on the price and what you get for it, the 50 watt is as good if not better than anything out there in my opinion. When I play through a different amp or start gassing for something based on some clips or what have you, I just fire my amp up and the feeling is gone immediately  My wants have now shifted to more guitars :D Not to say that there aren't some other amps I'd like to own but for the near future I'm good.

I just got mine last week with the matching 2x12 cab and I love it so far. I havent gotten it up to gig/ rehearsal volume yet but will tomorrow night. So far it sounds just as good if not better than my 100 watt EVH's.

I am going nuts waiting for mine to come in. I just got the limited edition, striped 100w 5150 IIII half stack in yesterday and I should have been excited about that but I wanted the Fed Ex guy to bring in the 50 watters instead.

That does it now I'm gassin for one, does channel 3 do anything other than metal well?

Once I picked up my 5153 Mini, I shortly thereafter sold my MKV that I had owned for three years. I was in need of a change and the 5153 has worked out better for me. Just simpler to dial in and sounds great. I'm not as picky about amps as a lot of people are on here for my situation (as in, I'm not in need of great versatility or a huge variety of tones). My Peavey JSX and 5153 fit the bill nicely for what I'm looking for.

The mini is one of the best amps I've owned and like a ton of guys here I've owned a lot of them. This amp is so versatile, clean to metal what ever you want.I cant recommend it enough!!

Very cool - thanks guys, means a lot coming from you. I'm generally in gear purge mode, but it leaves me with paypal balances, and I get tempted. And so I just bought one from Sweetwater. Guess there's a wait, but looking forward to it.

I stay on channel 2 for rhythm and switch to channel 3 with the gain at about 9:30 and the mids at about 2 o'clock for a sweet sustain-for-days lead tone. But it also does a punishing metal tone as well.
