Les Paul guys please chime in! I Just bought a 2013 Traditional (NO weight relieving and NOT chambered on the 2013's). I LOVE this guitar and the neck is nice and FAT.

So, I'm looking for another Les Paul now and wanting a nice one that won't bust my budget. Is this '58 Les Paul a good one, priced right...any concerns?

Thanks,
Bryan

I know Jim and Janine VERY well from that store. They've always got top guitars and they've always been great players when I've ordered one through them.

Having never picked it up - can't say it'll be a good player - but J&J are top notch customer service people, and I know Jim knows a good Lester when he picks one up.

Definitely buy with confidence. And to save some bucks, go directly to their store online and that way maybe it'll save you their eBay costs for selling. Let 'em know Mo sent you.

Peace
Mo

No issues; not the best price.....if you don't mind buying used you could save almost half of that.....jump over to MLP and check out the classifieds. You could place a WTB ad for an R8 and see what you get offered.....I've seen newer (2011/2013) R8s going over there for well under 3k.

That forum is like the RT of LPs....if you're not over there and need help/advice on which guys are good people hit me up over there....same name, and I've done a few over there and paid attention to who's consistently had good deals.

If it's really brand new (with warranty, etc), the price isn't bad. I agree with going used though as I found my "used" 2013 R8 for $2950 shipped and it has a much better top than the one you listed.

If it helps, I really love mine and the new customer bucker pickups are great.

I think the les paul forum and the gear page are the best places to find a decent deal on a historic LP.

I got my R8 for $2300 used, love it... attached a pic as the top in my opinion blows that one away ;)

R8 are great guitars, but that one is pricey. For that money you could get a used like mint R9... Or better yet a used R8 for a lot lot less

I was talking to Greg at BCR music today and he told me he finds the builds of the R8 better overall than the 59. He said Gibson doesn''t have to care as much about the 59's because they sell.

Nice guitar but I'm not a big fan of the VOS finish. It always seem to feel too stickey after a little sweat.

Seems allot of guys can't stand it and try to remove it with Virtuoso.

2013 made some changes in the historics and a used R8 is around 2900 to 3k, usually a new one is around 3600 to 3800. I think the new custombuckers sound nice and like them better than the bb1&2 from previous years.

You could also buy a older R8 used for around 2300 to 2500.
