Here is a guitar, so desirable, so rare, that sounds so good, at a fraction of the price these miraculous machines of glorious tone usually go for!! It started life as a miserable and undesirable Epiphone! But, its status has been elevated to epic and glorious proportions! It now resides as a 59 Les Paul!!! Who dares harness such magnificence!!? I dare say the world over has never seen such things!! I know this is too rich for my lowborn peasant blood, but for those among us who dare to dream…….your future glitters with gold!!!

I have spoken!

Who cares enough about an Epiphone Les Paul to sand down alllllll the poly finish and start from scratch to dye and lacquer it, wait between coats, buff it, upgrade the electronics, etc just to turn around and sell it?

I have an Epiphone 1959, and it's not bad (once you take care of the attrocious fretwork and terrible bridge/tailpiece setup). It doesn't sound as good as my cheapie Gibbo, but it plays as good (once I had the frets looked at), and it looks way prettier.

That conversion ends up making it look like a Chibson, LOL.

That flame (n)
That's what most of them look like on the Epis.

Personally, I think it's way better than the stuff they use on PRS SE's.

It kinda sorta almost looks 3D as well. At least on mine.

But yeah, nothing like you find on actual 1959's or even Gibbo USA's.

Looks like when they redid the finish, they also did a (half-assed) perimeter burst, LOL.
