It finally broke. I still have to work verse parts out and some leads here and there then humanize the drums a bit more.
Please let me know what you think of the tones on this rough mix.
The ending is heavily inspired by Beartooth.

Sounds good. Drums might be a little forward but the tones are good
Thank ya! I'm thinking about clean/delayed parts in verses. I just got a Way Huge Echo Puss so time to put it to work!

It was pretty good, sounds like stuff I was writing in the late 90’s (not a dig, just what was). I would definitely try and naturalize that snare a lot more but I’m not a fan of the modern snare sound, so caveat there. I wasn’t familiar with Beartooth. After watching a video or two of their’s I must admit I got a little despondent on where you’re taking this but will listen all the same when you’re done…?

Definitely gonna fix the drums for the final mix! I want that big reverby snare at the very end.
Beartooth is a jam!

Big ol fat fuzzy guitar and meaty drums. He does everything himself. (Caleb Shomo)

I agree with Race that the drums might be too loud overall; if I turn the volume on my speakers down low the guitars almost disappear while the drums are still crazy prominent

Time to buss them and adjust there I think!

Yes, 90s sound to it. Vh4 sounds good.

I used some really different settings for this one.

the beginner kind of gives off a Foo Fighters type of vibe.. very cool man.. keep it up

Starting work on this idea for song #2 of 9 for this project.
It began as a STL Tones example. I have it almost fully fleshed out as of last night.
Now that i have a great template on this first track it should be a breeze to finish.
