The first video i did in 2013 with my 6505+ Great lead tone on this amp.
The second this year with my 5153 Stealth. Also great lead tone.
I was surprised how similar they are. i mean they sound real close to me.

I found them to be pretty close also. I found the EVH is a little smoother in the top end and the Peavey is a little tighter, but the same basic sound.

Both sound nice. Agree on the evh being a bit smoother but as always, your tone, and playing are great. Enjoy watching your vids !!

Cannot go wrong with either of those, both killer !!!

They both sound great. I LOVE my 6505+. It's really the perfect rock amp.
Sounds like the EVH is the same amp. Very cool.

I have gas for nothing these days because of that amp.....and my Spawn.

Nice video now I want to give the 6505plus more attention lol

Comparing my Peavey 5150 head and matching 4x12 against my 5150 III 2x12 combo. Lead channel vs red channel. I find them to be super close. 5150 III is a little better. Seems to have more frequencies for a fuller sound. Yet somehow is a little better. Speakers? Now that the combo speaker is breaking in they are starting to sound very similar also. I was into using the speaker out into the 4x12. At first the combo was darker sounding with less 5150 fizz. Now they sound so close it's not worth it to plug into the cab anymore. Other than the crushing base from the Peavey which I love, the 5150 III is better. Almost makes me want to sell the Peavey. Nah.

The 6505+ is more like the 5150 III and the Stealth version...... The original 5150/6505 (non plus version) has a bigger low end and low mid than the rest, Ive owned them all.. ALL great amps ! Every one shines for different reasons but I love my 6505+ , its the one I held on to the longest. The clean and mid gain on the 6505+ is good also, just as versatile as the EVH version IMO.
