Ok, so I would like to make a 1 button footswitch for the 6505+ that will switch to the rhythm channel and turn the effects loop on at the same time...then switch back to the lead channel and turn the effects loop off at the same time. I was able to do this pretty easily with teh 5150, but the 6505+ has this funky 7 pin footswitch with 3 buttons...so Im kinda lost...Any one have any ideas?

For the 5150 switch, I used a DPDT switch and wired everything to that. Would it be possible to wire the effects loop and channel to one of these, then wire the crunch to its own switch and just leave it off and hanging out inside the footswitch box?

Can you open up the foot switch and take a pic? I think I found a .pdf that might work, it's for the Ultra fs: (Ooops, let me try attaching...) If that matches the foot switch, you can probably work from there. I'm going to guess you will need at least a DPDT or possibly a 3PDT latching switch to do what you want, so one click will do two functions.

ROFL thanks!!

Ive been gathering info and have a couple of ideas...but Im having trouble actually finding a damn 7 pin din jack to buy haha. The FS is at the studio, and I probably wont be there until tuesday night, but Ill grab it then and open it up. I am attaching a paint image of what I think will work...

It will be a DPDT switch (basically same thing I did with the 5150, but using a 7 pin din jack instead of 1/4").

Oh, I am working on a couple of assumptions as well...

1. Since Im not using LEDs, I assume that I can leave pin 1 disconnected...

2. Since I dont need the crunch button footswitchable, and when it is grounded, it is active....I am assuming if I do not connect that pin to anything, it will remain ungrounded, and thus be inactive with teh footswitch.

I think one DPDT will work as you wish. I believe you are correct for not needing the 17VDC connected, nor the crunch wire. It looks like you will have to supply a ground for pin 3's wire in the switch box, so the amp 'knows' the switch is plugged in. Simple enough to wire in the box, if you are using the original multi-conductor cable, which I assume you are. (And will just leave that one be as is... Just covering all of the bases.)

I assume you mean to make it looks something like this...

Yeah, my understanding was that I would have to connect ground wire and pin 3 to pin 4 (this part to make the switch detectable.)

I ordered all the parts, so Ill be trying it out when they all get here.

Ah, yes. You should be able to jumper 3 and 4 at jack in the box (yeah, I know...) pretty easily. I used an 8-pin DIN male and female to convert my old K Tre foot switch from hardwired to modular. If you are getting one like the one I got, there should be plenty of room to do custom wiring.

Cool. Yeah, I just bought a box, a few jacks (like 5 for 8 bucks lol), the dpdt, and a cable.

An 8-conductor cable? If not, you'll have to 'fool' the amp at the plug end that goes in the amp itself. Still doable, especially since you wouldn't have 8 wires in there. It's tight in those plugs.

Oh, ok haha. Had me worried that I bought the wrong thing for a sec haha!!
