Need info on biasing my vh4 for 6550's. Do I just swap the tubes in and bias to the appropriate range for 6550's or is there a component modification like replaces resistors needed.

Cool. What is a good bias setting for them. I just searched and it says 80-100mA? What say you.

Whatever you want. Just keep it at or under 70% dissipation.

That sure as shit can't be per tube, and that's between high and very high for a pair.

Maybe double check this over on the Diezel subforum before moving headlong into installing them and biasing them. I'd be thinking 40mA per tube is pushing it... Can't remember pV of the VH4 off the top of my head - check before you redplate 'em.

I used to run 100ma per pair. But eggs would fry on top the amp. Sounded like god tho!! I now do 80-85ma per pair & that's safe.

-KT88's can take incredibly high plate voltages-

-ive had a quad of GOLD LION KT88's biased in the mid 40's for 7+ years-
