Bought an awesome 85 Japanese Boxer strat body but has the trem posts 78mm apart instead of the standard 74mm.

Was deliberating my options.

1 Try a Gotoh 1996T and do a little grinding on one side of the plate. Approximately 2mm.

2 Remove posts, plug and re drill and paint.

3 Wait and try to find the original trem.

Thoughts?

I chose option 3.

That's a trem you don't see often..............Kinda like a cross between a Kahler and Floyd! I guess you found an old original then? Looks like it is dive only?

What years did Fender make these?

Does it feel like a Floyd?
It's cool but has to basically come out to restring.

It sounds good and the fine tuners work well.

It can float but it setup just fine with the neck the way it's sitting.

Feels better than a floyd as far as hand comfort.

The Fender Boxer was the 85-86 era.
