Sold '79 Marshall 2203 JMP Modded by Mike Soldano

My retirement amp sell-off continues (also check out my 4 hole Marshall I have listed)
I've had this amp for many years.
Lots of modded Marshalls have come and gone (included a half dozen or so Cameron modded Marshalls) but this has sent them all packing.
Plenty of harmonically rich, juicy gain on hand as well as an added effects loop.

Installed and biased a new matched quad of JJ EL34'S purchased from Euro Tubes last month
Mike installed the 2 way impedance switch that switches between 4 & 8 ohms.
* Note - the back headshell panel is missing (Mojotone has them available if interested)

In early/mid 2k’s played with a guy with a Soldano modded 800 that just ripped. I had a 78 2203 and having had it for 10 years and being bored, got the same mod…
….it did not rip
If I was smart I would have just had it taken out and kept the amp but sold it soon after.

Hey guys,

I'll get a video and some recordings out to you soon, but I just had to jump in quickly—this amp is phenomenal. I've had my share of killer amps come through, but this is easily the best one I've played in a long while (probably since my beloved 2204 w/ Naked Mod).

The harmonic richness is off the charts, and the saturation hits that sweet spot perfectly. The touch response and feel under the fingers are incredible. The EQ range is impressively broad, offering tons of versatility—perfect for dialing in tight lows, especially when you're pushing gain or tuning down.

Speaking of gain—there's a ton of it. At halfway (around 5), it dishes out more gain than many of my other amps set much higher, yet it stays clear, articulate, and beautifully separates each note and string.

Clearly, I'm deep in the honeymoon phase here, but I'm genuinely blown away and had to share the excitement. More detailed thread coming soon!
