hey everybody! great forum been lurking for years, well since the the begining after the harmony central b.s. anyhow , i have a 1986 charvel model 6, yeah i know made in japan ;) but i realy dig it, thinking of sending it to lee garver, for paint and new finger board and emgs or fisman moderns , or blackouts...maybe a new khaler if needed... any ideas on pickups? cost? and is he the best choice? ohh i play thrash /death metal..

Lee's work is top notch - for that sort of project, he'd be the first person I went to. That said, if you're going to replace the fingerboard, paint etc, it's gonna be pricey and you're unlikely to see much of that outlay back. Personally, I'd just try to find something closer to what you're looking for, rather than spending a grand reworking a model 6.

wow a grand, but i love this guitar, lol im thinking ebony board no dots or sharks and tritium on the side, and a custom navy cam paint job, i hate finnished necks, to sticky, how should the neck be treated? and yah i think lee would be a great choice to. i had this guitar since 1990 so yeah $1000 is not that bad.. im not interested in resale value, its going with me ,lol
