I place my first order at 8thstreetmusic.com yesterday. Is it me, or do they seem to be a little flakey? Not in a rip-off sort of way, but just real-low-overhead-kinda-makes-ya-nervous sort of way? They beat my local guys who usually blow everyone out of the water even with tax, so now I'm thinking something's wrong 'cause I didn't pay enough.

I'm a withdraw my comment in light of the positive reviews.....time to get some great prices next time I need gear :D

Never had any problem with them.

Don't worry, I've ordered lots of stuff from them and they have always had the best prices and I've NEVER had any issues with my orders. The orders arrived in a timely manner, where correct and not damaged.

Having said all that, I agree, they seem flakey over the phone. In fact, I've actually been to the store in Philly and they seem even more flakey in person. The store I went to was like a little hole in the way place with stuff crammed in everywhere. The place looked like a rummage sale was going on. I thought to myself there's no way these guys are even going to know what the hell I'm talking about let alone have the gear I'm looking for. But, they always proved me wrong. I always got what I came for and I also got great service...go figure.

Thanks, guys!
I just sort of picked up on something I couldn't quite put my finger on and I was a little worried. And, no tracking number available because the item was drop-shipped from the manufacturer.
I'm getting my first pedal board. Usually I'm just like straight into the amp or maybe a stompbox or two if I feel like it, I pretty much go with just the naked guitar sound, sometimes a couple effects for certain songs. I'll switch it up and do something different with the effects after a couple months. So anyway I've got a week long gig coming up this summer where the stage is going to stay set up over the days, but I'm only going to leave my amp up and take everything else home. I really don't want to try and figure out what I want to do each night and be screwing around with patch cables and crap beforehand, every night, so I figure I may as well put everything I own on a real pedal board with loopers.
I picked the Road Ready 24". It looks pretty abusable, and 8th street is selling them for 159 shipped.

i remember visiting there and thinking the gear was generally pretty shitty :(

Yeah, I had the same impression from looking at what they had laying around the store in plain view. However, when I asked about a specific piece of gear they would go into one of their back rooms and come back with it...always amazed me.

yeah, the store is hilarious. it looks awful to be honest. I did a couple of things with them over the internet and everything always went smoothly

UPDATE!

Got my Road Ready pedal board yesterday. All's well that ends well!
