9's or 10's on your strat (vintage trem)?

Its a fun discussion.

I have both. I have a naturally wider sounding vibrato on my 9's equipped strats, I think, but with my 10's equipped guitars I have a bit cleaner technique, less noise ringing out, better pick nuance, better string tactile touch.

What do u use?

9s on mine, but with my dystonia issues, I'm thinking of moving to 10s to give a little more resistance to the pulling that my left hand middle and ring fingers do now...

9s for me. I've tried 10s but thought the tone would change....it didn't. So 9s went back on. On my LP I have 10s.

10s for me. I don't seem to vibrato as well/have as much control when I use 9s.

Tuned in E, I recently went back to 9-42.

I like 10-46, but they will give me a little wrist pain after awhile. 9-46 was alright also, but they also tend to make me sore after awhile also. Thus, back to 9-42....

I use 10-46 when tuned in D though....

Even with 9's in standard tuning my strat feels really tight. I can't imagine playing a higher gauge

10's.

Gives me something to wrestle with. You know, kinda like a woman with Mary Lou Retton thighs...

Can't stand 9's. 10-46 are like home, 11's for detuned guitars.
