Nope, get Radial or Lehle ABY switches.

+1. They have ground loop elimination switches and phase switches. Very handy options to have. I currently am using this and it works great!

Wow i never new the bigshot switcher existed. At $80 its way cheaper than the Lehles. So the Bigshot is pretty good though?

I've been avoiding passive ABY switchss, including the BigShot, but it's a Radial product so it's probably going to be one of the better affordable passive switches around.

Has anyone used the morley tripler? The lynch one? I have been looking into a good aby box too

I haven't used one, but have heard they can be somewhat noisy. I say go with a Radial.

Yep, I owned one. It worked just as nice as the one I have now. Only thing is you don't get led's.

Yep, owned the Lynch tripler too. (whore) I did not like it. No fucntion for out of phase amps and no button for activating both amps at same time with one foot move. Yes it is possible to activate each amp and have all three on at the same time but required 3 moves of your foot. That pissed me off. I want to hit one button to activate both amps. Also the ground lift is a very nice feature, you would be surprised how much I use it to eliminate noise.

Never used the Tripler, but I have the Morley AB box and I wouldn't recommend it. It works decent but there is a noticeable loss of tone and volume when using it. Especially when using A and B at the same time.

Depending on what your application is, also look into the VooDoo Labs amp switcher--awesome piece of kit.

Don't get bashful with shelling out some cash here. A piece of shit is nothing but a nightmare. You want to make sure which ever you buy has:

Ground lift
Phase Inversion

Without being able to lift the ground, unless you install a small ISO transformer to an amp input, you are going to buzz. Without phase inversion, you cabs may run out of phase and sound like shit.

I have been through almost all of them, and here is a rundown:

Voodoo - no phase inversion. The Ground lifts I did not find effective and still had ground loop current.
Radial - I stepped on the switch and cratered it. But, when it did work, it was OK and has all these feature. Not a high end piece of kit though.
Lehle - top of the line and all the features. Built like a tank.
RJM Y Not - if you like MIDI, check out this one. You can put it in a rack or on a board and it is Midi controllable. All the features and a buffer. Dead quiet and I use it.
Morely - used as a door stop.
Whirlwind - useless unless you run some sort of external isolation.
Framptone - I hear it is excellent. Never bought one though.

Or, if you have an amp guy like Friedman or Jerry at FJA do any work for you, then can make a pedal way better than you will find mass produced. But, to go buy one I suggest Lehle or RJM (if you have Midi).

My 2 cents....and that is about what it is worth.

One of these days I'm going to make my own and use a Jensen
transformer that I have to isolate one of the outputs. The cheap
ones I've had just invite ground loops and it takes a good one like
a Lehle to work right.

Every time you add a gain stage in the preamp the phase of the amp changes. This happens when you change channels.

So if you have two amps in phase and switch channels on one of them you may now have the two amps out of phase.

This can be true....

Just won an auction for a Lehle Little Dual. Im set now. But I was really interested in the passive radial switcher - @ 1/2 the cost. Oh well. Cant wait till it gets here. Get to run my 5150 and my Mark III together with no nasty buzz.
