been busy over the last few months ...... some of the boosts / Overdrives I built for my 2204 ..... I was a " never boost " kind of guy ...... so I needed some of the classics I figured ..
from left to right ...
Marshall Bluesbreaker , Cornish G-2 , a clone of the pre amp in the original UniVibe , Marshall Guvnor , DOD 250 , Wampler Triple Wreck
EP Booster ( with all the fixins ) , Greer Lightspeed , Fortin Grind/33 , Boss Sd-1 , Boss BD-1 , Nobles ODR-1 , Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop

What layout did you use on the 250?
I built one and it’s bass heavy and kinda weak. I need to mod it.

I used a board from PedalPCB on that one .... there's some feedback on the site that mentions guys trying different things with the circuit ... I guess there's some values you can change to bring it to " grey " spec ... or closer to a DOD 250 + ... I went with however their schematic and standard build doc showed ... I used 1N270's for the diodes .

cool man what was the basis of the sd-1? I’ve seen lotsa tubescreamer kits but no sd-1.

I had my own Tube Screamer / Maxon 808 boards fabricated a year or two ago .... the circuits are so similar I was able to use my Screamer boards for a SD-1 build ( I went with the Boss Schematic online ) .... I just had to piggy back a few resistors and a couple of caps ... maybe swap out some different values ...
if you are looking for a kit ..... not sure I've ever seen one myself .... but I know PedalPCB has boards .... good place to start ...https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/uberdrive/

Dibs on the analog super drive. I like the clean unpainted look and the light around the switch/griffins ect. Great job man!! Any plans for some delay pedals? I'm guessing a klon is in the future as well?

So which ones can hang with or even surpass the SD-1 clone? I would think some just aren’t a good match?

I built a decent Klon clone a few years back .... it's actually one of my favorites going into the 2204 at this point .
I've done some delay builds in the past .... most based around the PT2399 Chip ...

so far my Klon clone is right up there next to it ... The Greer LightSpeed sounded really good .... I haven't spent much time with anything else yet ... other than the Guvnor ... which I thought would slay .... but ehhhh ....

Curious how long the delays can be, I like long echos around 600ms. I may want a klon one day if that is possible lmk. Great work.

I’ve been wanting to try a Lightspeed. And I live in Georgia! I have a couple of Klon clones, RYRA and Merman. The RYRA is cool but the Merman is really cool. Almost not right to call it a Klone.

I can build you whatever you want ...... I use PedalPCB's boards all the time .... and they have 100's of boards to choose from ....
pick out what your interested in .... and we can talk

The Greer uses a OPA2134 chip .... which I guess is considered the " Rolls Royce " of chips .... I use them in my Maxon 808 clones .... love em ..
The Greer so far has struck me as a really decent light to medium drive ... and clean ... not much tone coloring going on ..
