So... I set out to find a new set of pickups to get a modern metal tone. I decide to purchase a BK Juggernaut... But during my research I start checking out some of the new SD modern pickups such as the Alpha and Omega and Black Winters. I have a f'n Sweetwater credit account and end up buying a new f'in guitar! And a set of Alpha and Omega pickups! How does that F'in happen?!? Lol... Ended up with a Schecter Keith Merrow KM-6 with Black Winters in it! No wonder Im divorced! Buuuut , I like it! :D

Look at it this way... you saved the time soldering and swapping strings.

Hahaha... I wish that were the case... another problem I have, besides the GAS is I love tearing shit apart. As soon as I get anything new in my hands I tear it apart ... amps, guitars etc....New strings, setups, tubes !! Hahaha.

I have the Alpha/Omega set in my Holcomb PRS. Easily one of the most balanced sets of PU's I've ever used. Cleans sound great and they stay tight and clear with high gain. You wont be disappointed. Granted they are the sig set for Mark Holcomb as the Juggernauts are Misha's set. Listen to Periphery and you'll know how well they work.

Well...If it makes you feel any better.....

You now might as well try the Fishmans too and since you are testing new pickups with a new guitar you are definitely going to want to try some Creambacks and a different boost pedal.

I was looking at the Fishmans as well. Almost pushed the button..... May end up happening, anyways! Already have the Creambacks!

Awesome story and I know exactly what you mean. I was looking at the LTD M-403 for a nice fixed bridge HSS guitar for $599 demo price. Somehow I ended up GAS'ing for a Caparison Horus FX-AM that's $2199 to the point where I've almost justified it in my mind...

That type of logic and justification process is me 100% percent. Sometimes my mind is blown when things start showing up at my door from after a night of logic, justification and the ever so famous "good deal" lol.

Black Winters sound awesome..I have a set in a ESP-LTD EC-1000 and they just sound mean, lots of grind and sustain though my EVH 5153.

I need to pick up another set of black Winters. They are pretty awesome! Kinda torn between those and plain old Distortions which I have not tried yet.

Yeah! I’m stoked to check them out! Also, kind of stoked to check the Schecter with them loaded in it!

I have a distortion I’m using currently. I can’t say I don’t dig it because I do. It just feels just a bit loose on the low end for what I’m wanting to do.

----^^^^^^^^^^---(have your tried lowering the bass side or the entire bridge pup to tighten up the bass of your Distortion's?.. OR!!.. Better yet replace it with a DROP SONIC?)-
