ive got a herd of Randall MTS amps and a much larger herd of JF modules and i love the sound of everything except the peavey classic 50/50 that is powering my rm4. The peavey is an EL84 based amp and just about every mod that ive tried in the rm4 sounds like sh*t compared to when i run the same modules in any of my other mts amps which run 6L6s.
Question number 1
So heres my question i know that you can run the rm4 through the power amp of an rm100 or rm50, but i have heard 2 different answers about which loop to run it in. Which Loop is it that i can use?
Question number 2
So ill get the rm4 going through one of my rm100's but heres the tough part. Is it possible to use an a/b amp switcher and have the rm4's 4 modules and im wondering if im gonna be able to run the rm100's 3 modules with a light toe tap..
thanks guys

To run the RM4 into the RM100 you would use the RM100's effects return jack. I believe the serial loop would probably work a little better because you wouldn't have to mess with the effects mix control. I think the only way to use the modules from the RM100 and the RM4 is to use some kind of switching device like a Rocktron patchmate, Voodoo labs GCX, or something from RJM music. The problem is you are going to have to split your signal to send one to the RM100 and the other to the RM4 and have the ability to switch between them while turning your effects loop on and off. It is kind of complicated but you can see some of the examples for wiring on any of the products I mentioned.

You could also look for a Peavey Classic 60/60 power amp. 6l6s, cheap, indestructible.

Yeah I hear ya on the 60/60 ive been looking for one for a while cant seem to find one at the right time...

There's a 60/60 here in Columbus, for $400. Seems a bit high? I guess he had it rebuilt one of the top guys here in Cowtown.

Also, I have a Peavey Classic Series 60/60 all-tube power amp, which Mr Abel spent 7 hours replacing every single component and wire in this classic 3-space all-tube guitar power amp. He added master volumes on both channels, a variable bias and in/out attenuators on the back. This amp delivers massive fat body as a compliment to the Boogie's famous tone that you can feel in your bones.
