Well, I'll be ampless for a month. I had a massive power tube failure that took a few resistors with it. :( I sent the amp off to Audio Electronics in Dallas. They came recommended by Hughes & Kettner. While it's there, I'm having them fix a few small issues that have been present since I bought the amp. In the meantime, I'm left playing my drummer's JCM900- and while it doesn't sound too bad, it's not a TriAmp by a long shot! I'm just hoping that this isn't going to cost an arm & a leg to get fixed...

Ouch! That really sucks man! Sorry to hear it. Hopefully it'll be relatively cheap and quick. I'm totally diggin' my DSL...how far off are the 900s?

The 900 isn't a bad amp, but it's not the tone that I'm into these days. The TriAmp really has it's own sound, but if I had to sum it up, I'd say that it's like a cross between a super hot rodded Marshall and a Duel Recto. It's just got that low mid grunt that the 900 really doesn't have. Although I suppose I should be happy that the 900 was there for backup.

Audio Electronics does good work. They're not the fastest, but they'll get it done right.
