Here's another Überclip....
Please watch in 1080p HD.

I cannot for the life of me get my Rev 2 to sound like that... where did you place the SM57?

almost dead center.
forgot to mentio that I used a TS as a boost in this clip though

I'm using one too, a Maxon OD 808. Mine seems a lot more midrange-heavy than yours, possibly due to the KT88s. Gotta try the KT88s in mine...

Nice clip. The tone is perfect for the music you are playing

All kinds of ass.....kicked, has been.

Is that a TJ or a..???

Tight - tight and grindy. Nice stuff.
Mo

There's something so organic about the Rev 2, moreso than the Twin Jet. The Twin Jet sounds a lot more modern and less raw. In my experience it also likes active pickups a lot more than the Twin Jet.

I'd love to try the tj, am afraid that I'd like it though...and I can't afford another amp:)

Preamp tubes make a much bigger difference in the uber than in most of my other amps, the über had a rather brittle and dry upper midrange that's difficult to dial out (treble pot is higher and middle pot affects lower frequencies), took me a lot of time to find the best combination of tubes to get that high mid grainyness under control.

this one for v1-v3:

v4,v5: chinese
v6: Sovtek LPS

Are they basically JJ ECC83s tubes? My German is pretty rusty... I might be looking for something a little less fizzy than the stock Chinese.

No, they're a new type of tube, not sure who makes tbh, but it's none of the "regular" tubes (JJ, EH, Sovtek etc), I haven't found them in any other store yet either.
The bass is low and full, they have a nice smooth top end and less fizz than any other tube.
Loving them a lot

That's what I'm interested in. The Chinese tubes in the Uberschalls can lead to a lot of fizz if dialed incorrectly, especially with the Rev 2, which has unbelievable amounts of treble on tap and can get very fizzy.

EDIT: Threw some Sovtek KT88s in there, and it sounds a lot more like your Uberschall does with those settings. Tighter and much more scooped. More bassy.
