I went to my local music store on my lunch break today, which is right down the street from work. Normally, they don't really have too much there. They carry Boss and Danelectro pedals, but nothing I would really want. I usually special order anything worth while, but today was different. They became a Pigtronix dealer this week. I go there to get my local Scene Magazine, and they have a Philosopher's Tone and a Fat Drive in the case. I didn't even know they made a Fat Drive. I guess it just came out this year. So, I took it for a test drive, and I was really impressed. It is really fat, and touchy about it's gain. Had a nice roll off to it, and had more gain on tap than I would ever need. I am thinking of picking this thing up and replacing my OCD with it. Has anyone else ever came across this new Pigtronix Fat Drive?

The Pigtronix stuff is pretty cool! Ian Thornley added some to his new rig. The Philosopher's Tone is excellent. Only thing I didn't dig on it was the grit control, just wasn't for me. Same for the Fat drive, too fat for me in the front end. I'm sure it works for other applications. Most of the time when players boost the front end, its to get rid of the tubbiness not add more.

The Class A pedal was tits. It's a clean boost and takes instrument or line levels so it worked great in the front end and a loop. We used it in Ian's loop to boost the voincing L position volume drop compared to the other voicing setting in the Bones....worked like a charm bring up the volume without adding any coloration. Disnortion got added as well, very cool pedal and similar to the Prescription Experience.

Cheers,
Mike

Hell Yeah, the Disnortion is one of my all time favorite pedals!!! Friggin OD,Fuzz and Octavia all in one pedal and they all kick ass...

Haven't tried that OD pedal but everything pigtronix I've owned, I've loved. Quality stuff, I am sure their OD is no exception.
