Spent the better part of a month fixing my studio space...the roof needed some attention so it was back to more drywalling type fun! Finally got it back together over the weekend and moved things back in, re-arranged and re-wired everything. Seems pretty comfy so far. :)

My recording/ mix space:

Now to just tidy up a few things and finish painting....also want to add a little more acoustic treatment and a second monitor. The list never ends.....

I've been jamming tunes and getting used to the new placement of things sound wise....to dial in the mics I threw this short clip using my old Epi SG straight into the trusty '69 plexi......fun setup to play thru. Haven't played any gtr for about 6 weeks....nice to get back to some playing.

Congrats on the studio space looks cool.

That tone is great. Fat, nasty rock tone right there. I love the sound of the pick digging in.

Wow, that is one fat sounding amp...is that thing stock?

You should do a video in your garage next to your Chevelle using the 69

Sounds great George, I caught the first one last noght as well

Damn it George I was just over there last week lol nah looks nice man. Can you do me a clip of the 76 LPC? You can email it or whatever. Congrats I know that was a lot of work.

Hey thanks for checking it out! I'm so lucky to have had this amp find it's way too me so many years ago.

Awesome George! Play the Cobra next time.
Thanks Chad. For the moment I'm really into playing the SG's again. But the Cobras are right within reach.

Basically it is stock in the preamp. Just changed the value of the bright cap. The power section has alot more filtering than stock.

I like that. What pickup you got in that sg?
It's just a Duncan JB. Nothing fancy.

straight in, no boost ? no mods ?? sounds beautiful !!!
Yep straight in and no boost. This '69 has always sounded tight and gainy. Just plug in, turn it up and let it rip.

Thanks Rupe. It was a lucky find for sure.

Yeah I was right in the middle of drywall hell at that point. I'll see what I can do on the LP. How's yours? Getting some time to play it I hope. :)

Great sounding amp George! Great playing too!
Thanks! Now to get those calluses built back up. Sucks how fast they go away..... :(

Swapped tubes in my 68 Super Tremolo over the weekend. Those GT Mullard El34's sound pretty awesome. Like them better than the Siemens that were in there. It has alot of gain too. :)

I do like the GT Mullard EL34s too. Most everyone used to say they hate these tubes. I think it's mostly because of the GT label on them...
Anyway, I've got them on 80% of the EL34 amps I have and had no complains at all! Not that the other brands are bad, it's just that I liked the way the GT EL34M sound, and I could just get them at GC all the time.
