Hi all,

I am about to get a new Dual Rectifier. I really like the improvements Mesa has made to the clean channel, the smoother gain in the other channels (easier for dialing in a lead) and great options throughout.

Can anyone tell me if they have heard of a lot of issues with reliability, etc? I get worried with new amps because they all use RoHS solder and that scares me but I wonder what the reports have been in the field on the new Rectifiers.

Thanks!

Rectos rule. They're not the most convenient amp to use considering they have a pretty narrow range of settings that they really sound best on, but their tone is incomparable once you've got them dialed in.

I just got a 2010 dual rect yesterday and i like it alot, to my ears it sounds improved and i like the updates. the cleans are definately better and the 50/100w switches on the front are nice, its cool that you can select diodes or tube rect to each channel now also.
i owned 3 dual rects in the last 2 years and i hated all of them, they was lifeless and i put new tubes in all of them and i just couldnt get what i wanted out of them, they wasnt the first rectos i ever owned either and it wasnt because i couldnt figure out how to dial it in, i played a triple rect for 3 years and also had a pink dual rect, roadster and single rect that sounded good, so im used to the rectifers tone but over the years i either got some that was shitty sounding or my taste had changed.

i read some reviews of people who played the 2010 reborn rect and they said it was the same except for some new features and i wasnt gonna bother trying it, i was just gonna look for a roadster instead because i always liked that amp.
erock kept telling me to give it a chance because he loved his and i decided to get one and i can definately hear a difference in the tone, maybe some people dont hear it but i definately do, to my ears its brighter, little but tighter, the gain is definately clearer and less fuzzy sounding, i already mentioned the cleans are better.

so im pretty happy with my dual rect, im glad i listened to my dawg erock and checked it out.

his recto clip got me all excited

the owners manual is written really well, I am serous

+1

I can vouch that he's not being snarky, it's actually a really good read for someone who has never owned a Rec before. They don't hide anything, even going so far as saying how certain settings can lead to undesirable results. A very honest document.

Thanks. I'll be using this for a cover band. We do classic rock to 90s hard rock to current modern rock. We don;t do metal...only classic rock, grunge, modern hard rock, etc. I think the new Rectifier does classic rock tones VERYwell when using the Vintage and Raw mode. I LOVE the Raw mode.

Have you ever owned one of the older original 2 channel DRs? My buddy says those are the best........but I like the features on the new ones.

Zombie, can you do a video comparing the Uberschall with the 2010 Recto?

I can't speak about the 2010 specifically, however I do have a '92 Dual Recto and a Roadster. I like the Roadster better... both in terms of sound and features.
