ABY Setup...Passive ABY with StroboStomp as a Buffer?

Hey guys,

Scratchin' my head, trying to figure out what I actually need for ABY switching.

I'm trying to determine whether I need to spend the extra on an ABY with a built-in buffer, or if I can set up my StroboStomp tuner to act as a buffer on the input side of the ABY pedal. I'm running EMGs...do they act as a buffer?

I will be using the ABY to switch between my Uber and Dual Rec. However, I'm concerned about whether the signal will be affected when i use the ABY to drive both amps simultaneously.

If my StroboStomp can act as the buffer, I will just pick up the Radial Engineering Bigshot ABY. If not, I will have to look at the Lehle and Radial Switchbone...which I really can't afford any time soon.

Thanks in advance for your input.

if it has a buffer in the pedal it will work. I can use a BOSS SD1 or tube screamer or even just my Boss tuner and that fixes any need for a buffer. I use the Radial bigshot unit.

thanks, bubba. i was basically concerned with using the radial bigshot to drive both amps. i've read that splitting the guitar signal can thin the sound going into each amp without a buffer. i just didnt know whether the strobostomp could act as the buffer, or if i needed one the mega-buck splitters with it built-in.
