Well, in light of my recent and uncontrollable explosion of GAS for all things ac-30 and similar, I humbly request pictures :D

I'm trying to work out a trade to get one myself, but until then, regale me with your photographs and tales of tonal superiority.

Had one, liked it, sold it (for a Dr Z, IIRC).
It sounded much better with Greenies than with the Blues.

Well, my other guitarist is using a Rocker 30 head through a v30 loaded cab (and favors darker tones) so I'm looking for something to compliment that and the ac30 is at the very top of my list.

Like..........WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY up there.

She's a beaut, man ;)

Have you looked into the Valvetech Hayseed at all? I've got the VAC25 so I can't comment on the Hayseed's tone, but I've heard they're like AC30 clones (and there's one on ebay that's cheap).

The Hayseed is certainly on my short list, but I don't have extra cash (my wife and I just had a baby girl). I've got to find someone who wants what I've got to trade ;)

Gotcha, gas sucks ;)

How about Vox AC50 users? :) BTW Vox has discontinued the heritage AC30H2, so places are blowing them out. Trying to resist.

I heard the VAC25 at one of the ampfests and while it's a gorgeous sounding amp, it wasn't all that loud. That could be good or bad depending on how you look at it.

If you're looking for the air moving qualities of the AC30, it isn't the one. It's definitely it's own amp.

The Hayseed 30 on the other hand is a killer ac30 clone!

call me crazy but i like the new custom better than any of the other versions. i haz teh gas.

They're loud beasts, but they sound glorious. I like this CCX better than the old TBX, by a wide margin. Apparently the new Custom line is bad ass as well, and for $999 you get a bad ass AC30 with greenies.

if there was a head version of the custom i'd already be paying more interest on my credit card right now...

THIS.

I want, badly. It would just be so much easier if someone wanted to trade me for one :D

Otherwise I have to go through the whole rigamarole of selling....blech.

my Framus 30W EL84 have very AC30 inspired styling and clean/breakup tones.the speaker choice is quite diffrent thou.
but i love AC30s (and AC15s)

Big Vox fanboi here (please see sig)

Here is a pic of my Heritage Corner, the AC30H2 is the newest addition, very little time to play her, but at least she's new and here. The supply is disappearing rapidly.

I've played the Ruby Riot...man that was a sweet amp! I had an opportunity to buy one a while ago and didn't, probably should have.

Musiciansfriend sold out of the closeouts so quick it was unbelievable.

Yes, I had one on backorder at MF; called them and they couldn't tell me if or when I would get one so I found a few authorized dealers on ebay that had them in stock, new in box. Got an even better price. Last I checked there were only a few left; some places still had original retail pricing of $1999 or more!

I planned on getting one, or a JMI, eventually, just had to do it sooner than I expected. I wonder what Vox will be doing to the Heritage series next?

Nothing, as I understand it.

They came out with the new "custom" series and that's the flagship for a while.

Oh...and the new "valve reactor" bullshit hybrid series.

Hmmm, maybe the new VR tech, but I dig the valve reactor technology as far as low price modelers go, FWIW. I have a ToneLab LE that replaced an Axe-Fx Ultra (which was overkill for my needs sounded great though, but for the price I have more tube amps now) as my grab-n-go solution. TLLE is easier to dial in for me, gets the vintage Vox tones I want at a low cost; plus TLLE's are easy to find.

I also have an original blue series stack, from Korea. From what I can gather, the original blue series tonelab and amps had a better valvetronix solution that used more complex algorithms - going from memory here, but I think it had to do with the way it varied or simulated speaker impedance/response into the algorithm? Later versions did this in a less expensive (expressive manner)? At least that is the rumor, IIRC?

I've used the ToneLab live to house FOH and monitors awhile back, now on my to do list is to dial my ToneLab and modeling amp in to match my Vox Heritage amps. I run the ToneLab into a Bose L1 Model II system, I use the Bose for my bass and keys amplification as well. The new ST may have more models or updated software, but the foot controls are too limited for live use compared to the LE IMO, YMMV. If I get back into a live situation, my plan is to make my TLLE to FOH (or my Bose) my live solution. My Heritage amps will stay home, and like new. That is the plan anyway.

Another plus, is it kinda looks like the Super Beatle of the 60's. Here is a pic: AD120VTH + 2 x AD212 cabs:
