If you have an older Boss pedal that says you need an ACA adapter, is that what you should use for optimum performance?
I've always used the Boss PSA and it works fine, but just wondering if the older ones say ACA for a specific reason...

I think:

ACA = unregulated.

I also think:

You can use PSA adapters on all Boss 9VDC pedals, including ACA pedals

but, you can't only use ACA adapters on PSA pedals.

I picked up one of these, http://www.zikinf.com/_gfx/matos/dyn/la ... e-od-2.jpg but the volume isn't the loudest so I'm wondering if an ACA would work better.
I have heard that the low volume is typical with this particular pedal though.

I have two of those. interesting pedals.

I don't think the ACA will make it any louder.

Maybe, you should send it to Keeley or Analogman or something.

There might be a simple volume mod for it or something. :rock: :rock: :rock:

Yeah I've read that mods really help the pedal.

I've found that with it's lower volume it actually works really well for stacking on another boost pedal since it doesn't really add much in the way of noise. It adds sustain and nice harmonic complexity to your gain. It does suck some bass out when engaged, and when bypassed it also shaves some of my signal and tone. So I might look at a volume and true bypass mod for it.
